This I believe

I believe people should all be equal in power. What normally happens to someone with power? They get greedy, overwhelmed, thick headed, and of course, controlling. I believe the police should not have so much power because they're basically able to do anything they want and be able to get away with it.

I've heard many stories of police purposely planting evidence in people's homes just so they can bring them in for questioning or to just bust them, because the police say "I had a feeling in my gut that he/she is the one".

I've also heard that a police officer was behind a car at a drive through and like usual the worker hands out a bag of the customers order, and somehow the police officer said that, that looked suspicious and he got out of his car and searched the customers bag, and found an ounce of marijuana in the bag. Now, how would a normal human being all of a sudden know what's hiding in a bag at a fast food drive through? Does this mean a police officer can check everyone's bag of food just because he wants to know what you ordered?

I myself have an example of getting in trouble with the law and all for dumb reasons. My first time I got in trouble with the law was from a traffic ticket. I was cruising down the street in a 1975 F-250 Ford pickup and there was a light coming up ahead and I got about a truck length and a half away from the white crosswalk painted lines. The light turned yellow at that time and I tried stopping but there was no way I could have in time in my big pickup so I kept going and went all the way through the light. After I got about 20 feet or more through the light it turned red. The police officer pulled me over about a mile away after the light and gave me a ticket for running a red light which in fact was yellow. As anyone knows the law enforcer's word rules over a normal working citizens word. He tried telling me, "Oh I have you on video," and such but the police officer would never show me this video. I argued about this in court and guess how it turned out? Yup, you guessed it, I had to pay the fine.

From all the stories I've heard about the police and court I believe its safe to say that the job of a police officer can become too overwhelming and they get so used to having too much power that they lose control of who they really are. There are people that do deserve their tickets and there are people who deserve to be locked up or fined with a big load. But I believe the amount of cash they expect someone to pay over some tickets should be decreased by far. Having bad experiences with cops also makes me believe they only have that job for the money and pleasure of ruining some peoples lives and knowing they can get away with it without a fight. I believe that even vs a police officer a person should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
